Global Reach
The Survey on Gender Equality at Home is conducted synchronously in 208 countries, territories, and islands, spanning every region in the world. People are surveyed through the Facebook platform, and the data serves as a global snapshot to complement conventional inputs to help researchers, NGOs, global development institutions, and gender equality advocates track trends in gender equality and UN Sustainable Development Goals progress over time.

Gender Data
The survey data is disaggregated for men and women, allowing insights into gender differences. It measures attitudes and beliefs about gender equality, participation in unpaid care and domestic work, resource allocation, and COVID-19’s impact on everyday lives. This gender data is shared with policymakers, researchers and practitioners working to accelerate progress on gender equality and the SDGs.

Experiences and Perceptions
By asking individuals about both their experiences and their perceptions, this survey generates insights into people’s lives at home as well as how they view the world around them.

Rapid Insights into COVID-19
This inaugural survey generated data on individuals’ experiences of COVID-19, at a time when conventional data collection techniques were constrained due to mobility restrictions and public health concerns. The survey provides insights into how people’s lives are currently impacted, without endangering either survey participants or the interviewer.
